A different way of educating

65%
OF CURRENT SCHOOL STUDENTS WILL, AFTER GRADUATING, BE DOING JOBS THAT HAVEN'T YET BEEN INVENTED* * US Department of Labour

18-35 year olds will form a historic generation that has the power within it to change the way things are. They are continually being driven to learn, as a result of the global chaos that they have found themselves in, the collaborative technology promises that they are the first to master, and access to instant information; other drivers include information obesity, and living in a post-truth society. For digital natives and those who find it easy to teach themselves, knowledge is a box of Lego within easy reach of everyone. They are quick to check on YouTube as a way of getting information or learning something easily; furthermore they enhance the Cloud with their own tutorials. For them, work is not an end but a product that they consume and that enables them to fine-tune their learning process.

Technologies are being developed to support education (virtual reality, holograms, teacher robots, etc.) as well as new teaching methods like those where the child plays a key role in their own learning, through experimentation (the concept of “true play”).

Education has become a global system of sharing values, knowledge and tools, to enable us to live together in society. Empowerment will be an important feature of this, from the cradle to grave.
